Are you bored of exploring the normal Minecraft world? Are you one of a kind, wanting to try out something new, like a custom world with unique biomes, diverse landscapes, and incredible structures?! or something realistic?! How about an Earth-like map?! Sounds interesting, right?!
This article will show and guide you through all the steps where you can upload your custom world to your Minecraft server and enjoy something different from the normal world.
A custom world is just an enhanced version of your normal Minecraft world, which may have unique biomes, diverse landscapes, and amazing structures that aren't part of the normal Minecraft world but are generated so that one can explore and experience uniqueness.
Before getting started with the process, you will require a world file, which you can either download/extract from your previous server/game files or you can download a custom made world from some of the known marketplaces like PlanetMC, BuiltByBit, and many others.
Keep in mind, in order to upload your world file to your server, you first have to zip it, or else you won't be able to upload it to your server.
Now that you have a custom world available with all essential files in it, all you have to do is follow the steps below and your custom world will be installed into your Minecraft server in no time.
1. Log in to the MCServerHost dashboard and stop your server for safe configuration and world changes.
2. Upload your custom world zip file to the file manager of your server and unarchive/extract it.
3. On doing that, delete your existing 'world' folder and change the folder’s name of your custom world to ‘world’. The name is case-sensitive, so make sure it is all lowercase.
4. After successfully performing all the steps, restart your server to load your recently uploaded world.
1. Uploaded world not working - After you complete all the steps, some users will notice their newly uploaded world not work. This usually happens when the user forgets to rename their newly uploaded world as 'world' in all lowercase letters, as it's case-sensitive. Another reason for this can be due to not deleting the old world file from your server, which doesn't let your server load the newly uploaded world.
After following and finishing the entire process in this article, you'll be able to load a custom world for your server. Just make sure to back up your original world in case you want to revert to the original.
Similarly, if you are having any type of issue or problem with your server at MCServerHost you can always get in touch with us by joining our Discord server or writing us at support@MCServerHost.com.
