If you are running a Minecraft Server, you may have noticed that your world is split into 3 different folders — world, world_nether, and world_the_end. This is a default feature and helps server owners to customize their server's dimensions according to their needs and requirements. The issue comes when you're trying to add your world to a single-player world, backing up/transferring your server, or trying conversion tools like Chunker.

To solve this, we are going to guide you through every step on how to merge your server world in one single folder. The process is simple and can be performed by anyone with little to no experience with Minecraft Servers. Just make sure to back up your server files before proceeding.

Downloading Your Minecraft World

Start by downloading your world files from your Minecraft Server. If you are unsure how to do that, you can view our simple tutorial on that topic at https://www.mcserverhost.com/community/tutorials/how-to-download-your-minecraft-world-from-your-server. It is very easy to follow and clearly explains how to download your world files from your server with the help of SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol).

Merging World Files

Follow the steps below in order to merge your world folders (world, world_nether, and world_the_end) into one single folder–

1. Start by going to your nether dimension folder named 'world_nether' by default. In there, copy the folder named 'DIM-1' and paste it to your 'world' folder.

2. Similarly, navigate your way to your end dimension folder named 'world_the_end', copy the folder 'DIM1', and paste it inside your 'world' folder.

3. On successfully moving both the DIM-1 (Nether Dimension Data) and DIM1 (End Dimension Data) into your 'world' folder. You can zip it and start using it.

Note - This method of merging world, world_nether, and world_the_end into a single folder works for Vanilla, Paper, Spigot, Bukkit, and Purpur servers, as they store dimensions in separate folders by default.

Conclusion

That's it. By following all the above-mentioned steps correctly, you can easily merge your world files into one single folder. Ultimately simplifying backups, transfers, and conversions while keeping all dimensions properly linked
