Are you switching to MCServerHost and want to download your world files from your old hosting?! Or maybe you just want to install your world files from your server in order to save your world from data loss, corruption, or further use. Don't worry! We got you all covered. In this tutorial, we are going to guide you through every step on how to download your world files from your Minecraft Server.

Connecting to Your Minecraft Server with FTP (File Transfer Protocol)

Before starting, you will need to connect to your server files via an FTP (File Transfer Protocol) client in order to download your world files to your preferred device. To do that, you can follow our simple tutorial at https://www.mcserverhost.com/community/tutorials/how-to-use-ftp-with-mcserverhost#connect-to-your-minecraft-server-with-filezilla. It is very easy to understand and clearly explain everything you need to connect to your server files via an FTP client (FileZilla).

Downloading Your Minecraft World

After connecting to your server via FTP (File Transfer Protocol), follow the steps below in order to download your world files from your server—

1. Log in to your MCServerHost dashboard, and stop your server in order to avoid any type of error while downloading your world.

2. Go to your FTP client connected to your server and locate your world folders — world, world_nether, world_the_end. In this case, we are using PaperMC as our server software, which keeps separate files for each dimension. You can view a list below showcasing how different server versions (PaperMC, Forge, Vanilla, and many others) manage world files.

- Vanilla – 1 folder (world)

- PaperMC → 3 folders (world, world_nether, world_the_end)

- Spigot → 3 folders (world, world_nether, world_the_end)

- Bukkit → 3 folders (world, world_nether, world_the_end)

- Forge → 1 folder (world)

- Fabric → 1 folder (world)

- Bedrock (Nukkit/PMMP) → 1 folder (worlds/<world_name>)

3. Select your world files and drag and drop them to your preferred location on your device.

4. Wait for the download to complete, and you're all done!

Conclusion

That's it! You have successfully downloaded your world from your Minecraft Server. Now you can use it on different servers, install it on a single-player world, or even share it with your friend. The decision is all yours.
